Development of 3D objects
Context and need
3 D printing is a so-called additive manufacturing technique that proceeds by adding material, unlike techniques that proceed by removing material such as machining. 3D printing makes it possible to produce everyday objects, spare parts or prototypes for testing. The starting point is a computer file representing the object in three dimensions, broken down into slices. This information is sent to a 3D printer which will carry out the manufacturing by adding successive layers.
For this project, our client first wanted to improve the existing order management process.
In addition and mainly, his need was to have a number of quality 3D products configurable by their customers, through the site customizer, who could then order their 3D objects.
The direct production of objects using 3D printers is changing the rules of the manufacturing industry: we are witnessing a third industrial revolution.

Our support
Initially, concerning the improvement of the order management process, we delivered new functionalities which took into account in the order the different characteristics of the personalized objects, as well as the different categories of STL files (file storing 3D model information).
Secondly, thanks to our know-how and our technological knowledge in 3D, in particular in OpenSCAD and OpenJSCAD, we have worked on around 15 already existing objects and have delivered half a dozen new 3D objects to date, which have come complete the catalog of objects available on their site.
